- Avoid Blood Thinners: Discontinue the use of blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or certain supplements (e.g., garlic, ginkgo biloba), at least one week prior to the procedure to minimize the risk of bruising.
- Avoid Irritating Products: Stop using any harsh skin care products, such as retinoids or exfoliants, at least one week before the procedure, as they may cause skin sensitivity.
- Limit Sun Exposure: Minimize sun exposure, and avoid tanning beds in the week prior to the treatment to prevent tanning or sunburned skin, which may complicate the procedure.
No anesthesia is required for most cases, but in some situations, a topical numbing cream or mild pain relief medication may be recommended
To ensure optimal results and minimize any potential side effects after your HIFU procedure, please adhere to the following post-treatment guidelines:
- Sun Protection:
- Avoid direct sun exposure for at least one week.
- Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher when going outside, even on cloudy days.
- Hydration:
- Maintain adequate hydration by drinking plenty of water. This supports the healing process and enhances skin elasticity.
- Skin Care Routine:
- Use a gentle cleanser to wash your face. Avoid any products that contain harsh chemicals, exfoliants, or fragrances for at least one week post-treatment.
- Follow up with a soothing moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and minimize any potential dryness.
- Avoid Heat and Intense Activities:
- Refrain from exposing your skin to excessive heat, including saunas, steam rooms, and hot baths, for at least one week.
